Just Common Sense

Alright, I've been to the new DR. and the outcome was exactly what I was hoping for today. I showed her the last prescription that my family Dr. wrote for me in December, followed by the prescription that was written by the mega practice of Peninsula Cardiology. All she did was just shake her head and told me she could sit all day and tell me about that practice, as she used to work for my DR. and was connected with Peninsula, she knows the deal. She even told me they were being shitty (she didn't use that term) about getting patients records transferred, that place doesn't care about people, all they care about is numbers $$$

I told her that I practically had to climb over people to get to the window to get the measly script that they wrote for me. She asked me was I comfortable with the dosage I had cut back to, I told her that all I was concerned about was withdraw if I had to cut that dosage in half again and she did agree that the dosage I'm currently taking is reasonable for someone who has been taking that drug for almost eighteen years.

Because I'm unemployed they work each patient on a sliding scale depending on income. Today my visit was only $20 with a request for blood work for my next visit in May and that blood work is only going to cost me $24. Whew, what a load off my mind.

After I got done the paperwork prior to examination the nurse took my blood pressure and it was high, 160 over 110, then the DR. took my BP again before I left and it was still high at 160 over 90. Soooo, as if I don't pee enough she put me on a fluid pill for my blood pressure, that's a new one on me, I feel old now, fluid pills?

Well, for today all is well and now it's time to relax and let that blood pressure go down. Of course as I knew I was almost 200 lbs and that tells me I need to lose 20 to 25 lbs, that will also help the blood pressure and I'll have to start exercising before I get back to work and that should help also.

Hell, if Obama has his way with his State of the Union message last night, I'll be eligible for another year of unemployment! Have I said I can't wait to get back to work? Oh course I have, I'm bored to death and all I want is a decent job, not unemployment. Until that time, I'll take the money honey : )

That's all I got for today Good Peoples. Peace!

I have been taking Lisinopril/HCTZ for almost a dozen years for HBP. That and about a 1/2 a dozen other meds. But the shit works!

Getting old does suck. I take niaspan for cholesterol and it is only time released niasin the vitamin and the pharmacy wanted $189 and some change for 60 pills taking two at bedtime.

I'm on unemployment with no insurance can't afford them at that price. Good thing for samples, I have enough to last for two months with my old DR gave me before he retired and what she gave me yesterday.

$189 for a time released vitamin and that's a low ball price because I called around. No generic, that should be a crime, nothing but robbery.

The drug company is Abbott, before their exculsive rights to it expired they changed the coating so they can keep exclusive rights to it for another 7 years. Bastards ought to be in jail.
